Foolin' Around at the Zoo - Again

We went back this week to see these guys - the flamingos. Kealan has been waiting for a while to see them again and was very excited when they returned. When we went last week it was right before the exhibit opened. We bee-lined to them in the morning (after the ride on the carousel, of course) and Kealan was thrilled. She stood up on the stroller seat and yelled at them, "Hi, Flamingos! I've waited so long to see you!". She then picked up the zoo map that had a close up of a flamingo on the front, held it up over her head, and yelled, "This is what you look like! You're pink - my favorite!" It was the sweetest thing!

We usually touch base with the Brown Bears online on the bear-cam (I'm way more into it than K). The highlight for K of their exhibit was the fish and ducks in the water. K was enthralled with being able to see the ducks above and below the surface at the same time.

Poor Tiernan is such a good sport when we go. He misses his morning nap and just mellows out in the stroller until he lets it be known that he has had enough and it's time to go home!

We watched this Momma Gorilla take a little nap with her little 7 month-old - so cute!

Because of the hype of this visit, it seemed appropriate that a new buddy follow us home! K has named her Sally.

Just a little Kea story - She and G were perusing our photo album when she came across a picture of her and Teddy Bear taken just after Teddy Bear became Alpha-Lovey. She was perplexed with TB's appearance, asking, "Why is she so fuzzy?" G explained that that is what TB looked like before K bit all of her hair out!
